Christmas all through the house

With Mom still in the hospital, it has been so hard to get in the mood for Christmas.  I have been dabbling with the decorating each morning before going to the hospital.  I thought I would take a few minutes to show you one of the Christmas centerpieces that I made.  Roger cut some birch, dried it well, then cut it to different lengths.  He then drilled each piece with a "forstner" bit, just the right size to hold a tea-light.

I placed three birch sticks on a charger and decorated with a vine wreath, pine cones and berries.  The different looks you can achieve with this is endless.  I made a few and gave them to friends, and they all just love them!  Takes all of five minutes to put an entire centerpiece together(of course, Roger did all the real work of actually getting the birch and cutting it to size and stuff.  I just get to put it together and get all the credit!)

Here are two really neat plates that my niece, Tonya, gave us this year for our anniversary gift.  They are made from wood and are hand-painted........really different.  I love snowmen!

Last this mornimg....a simple little centerpiece I made for my kitchen side table.  I used a 6" x 6" clear glass container.  I placed some florist's foam (oasis) and water, then added some red pine and black spruce cuttings, that I gathered on my morning walk.  I then added a few decorative apples, berries, and cones to give it a more festive look.  This one not only looks nice, but smalls divine.......

What do you think??

Only eight more sleeps!!!!!

Cheers
:o)
